Vietnamese canned lychee approaches the European market

As of December 2021, more than 20 tons of Vietnamese canned lychees have been sold for the first time on supermarket shelves in France. This is the first batch of canned lychees imported directly by Tang Frères, the largest retail distribution system, importer, and wholesale distributor of Asian food in France. This is also the first time canned fruit of Vietnam is sold on the shelves of a retail distribution chain in France. This event is a very important success, opening a new development direction for Vietnamese fruit in the French and European Union (EU) markets.

Although Vietnam has many strong enterprises in canned fruit, these products have only been imported into France in small quantities through small importers. Therefore, for this segment of the fruit market, Vietnam still has a lot of opportunities, and businesses need to make the most of the opportunities, reduce the huge pressure on output every time the harvest season comes. At the same time, it also affirms the stable fruit supply capacity of Vietnamese enterprises to international partners. Enterprises also need to make more efforts to have a methodical and long-term development plan enough to be able to access the difficult European market, thereby enhancing the brand value of Vietnam.
